Day Three:

You would probably like to see more of Castle Writemore. So, let's show you around. Our first stop is the Great Library. We have thousands and thousands of books here. And we have a brand new librarian. Her name is Miss Loola. She is just starting out her new job. Could you help her make a list of rules for people that visit the library?

Keep in mind, some of our visitors are trolls, wizards, and dragons, so be imaginative with your very important rules.

Teacher Tips...

Goal: Create a list of rules for an imaginary library.

Many of the prompts encourage learners to make lists, and this prompt is no different.

Rules are an enormous part of our society. Young people are inundated with them. This prompt gives them a chance to come up with their own list of Dos and Don'ts. They may decide to create a list of rules one would expect in a type library, or they may create a list that is VERY different from our everyday expectations. Encourage them to use their imagination and come up with rules for the more fantastical members of their version of Castle Writemore.

If learners have trouble generating ideas, ask questions. Oftentimes, their answers will be a perfect addition to their journal entry.
